I am 16 and i want to work at Barnes and Nobles bookstore but i also hear rumors of the job not being worth anyone time that...you'll just end up cleaning up the bathrooms and that they are disgusting...and i don't do well around cleaning chemicals. I want it to be my first job so please tell me your opinions about it... I will be officially 16 on April 17th and I'm planning to App. for a job a week after my birthday....or maybe I'm rushing...you tell me about that too.

  1. Ask them what you will be doing for them. It is important if you have a problem with cleaning chemicals to explain this to them and why. Often in retail everyone does a little bit of everything. You may not get the job but if you have a problem with this aspect of the job because of this possibly through no fault of your own you may not be able to keep the job. I once had a problem with something on a job I had. Someone else had a problem with something else. We both spoke with the boss explained this and asked if we could switch responsibilities on a regular basis. The boss said sure. I really don't care who does the jobs they just need to be done. It worked out quite well.  Best of Luck   BOB
