Working at a daycare is a great job if you enjoy taking care of children. Some things you will probably need before you apply are a fingerprint clearance card and food handlers card. If you have previous babysitting experience then it can serve as a plus. This job requires you to be active and on  your feet most of the time. It is a great learning opportunity if you want to be a teacher. Overall it is low-stress, fun and enjoyable if you like kids in general.

I think working at a daycare is a good job if you really like kids and stand kids. But my edvice to you is that you should totally keep this job because babisiting is a best way of learning how to be a parent.

i recently retired from childcare after 25 years.  i've been a teacher, assistant director and director, as well as owned my own center.  it was a wonderful profession as long as you realize that:

you can't do it for the money

you will get out of it what you put into it

it won't always be easy and you won't always be appreciated

you need to learn and grow

if you really understand all that, then it can be a wonderful career choice.

yes, i think so... because for me it's a great fulfillment.. in that way you're teaching them how to read and write which is their first step...

I've been working at a daycare for 2 yrs and i love it. I work with 18-24 months and I've gotten so attached to every class I've had. Getting to play with kids and take care of them is very rewarding. My kids definitely keep a smile on my face.

absolutely i love it, i love every kid i have worked with it is so fullfilling...not only are you teaching them, but you learn so much from them as well!
