Is working for CIA headquarters a big deal?

Is it? What do they do there? My older brother who's 18 says he wants to work for them

  1. Not really, the CIA is like NASA, it's a huge organization with about a gazillion employees.

    There's a handful of spies who do stuff like looking for WMD and overseeing torture in foreign prisons, but most CIA staff are clerical workers. The do research, sort and maintain records, translate wiretaps and documents, and generally maintain the organization.

    You can join the CIA straight out of high school as a secretary if you've got good typing skills and aren't planning to plot against the US. You need a college education or some really neat special skills to be an actual CIA agent, though. Right now they are looking for Arabic speakers and people with a knowledge of middle eastern culture.


  2. no most of their jobs is clerical so they have a lot of office workers just like any other office.
