Is working for NCL America as a waiter a good idea?

Its probably not the best idea. I've cruised alot and from what I've heard its very very long days, with long hours, and you dont get alot of free time. However you make really good tips, and they pay you a base wage, but its not very much. And you have to sign a contract for a certain period of time, and its usually best to be single, or married to someone on the ship. The waiters usually share rooms, so its like 4 people in a room or something. Good luck.

Let me put it this way,  all the waiters are from india and other similar poor countries.  They food that they are allowed is awful and they get paid only tips.  They work from early morning until late at night.  It is an awful gig.

you have a small small cabin you share with another crew member, you work hard hard hard, (long hours).  

but if you are willing to do that, it would be an experience  of  a lifetime.
