Question:

Is working out ok at my age at my age?

Hey im 14 and workout nearly every day, I take protein shakes and play sports all the time. Im around 5'5 is it ok to be doing this or will it effect me in some way. I work out enough that i have rather 6 or a 12 pack if your counting the sides advise please .

  1. It's not unusual for someone your age to want to 'bulk up'.

    However, too much protein is a burden on your kidneys and can lead to some serious problems (the kidneys are responsible for filtering protein from wastes).  I would recommend seeing a dietitian or nutritionist to make sure you aren't exceeding the limits for protein intake at your age.

  2. ya i do it and im 13. take a break on wednesday and on sat and sun. You could seriously mess yourself up if u dont take breaks.

  4. the exercise is very good for you, as long as you dont over do it.

    but dont drink protein shakes, they appear healthy, but thats more for adults.

    be carefull when you start changing up your vitamins, its better to just eat a mondo healthy diet. and eat a lot. if you are working out all the time, you are burning calories you may not have to burn.

    people say to avoid carbs or you will gain weight, but carbs in your case will cause you to gain weight that you will turn into muscle mass.
