There true definition is a "talent show" because there scouring the country to find individuals who have a musical/theatrical/dancing ability and then facing them to the public. We then decide who wins.

They are pretty much talent shows, yeah.

The X Factor is a talent show for singing that anyone 14 and over can enter.

First they have to audition (X Factor sets up places to do so all around britain.) There are 4 judges (or sometimes only 3) and the contestant sings part of a song and each judge give them a yes or a no.

Depending on how many judges they need either 2 or 3 yeses to get through to the next round.

They compete until there is a winner and the winner gets a record deal, etc.

Britain's got talent is just a general talent show, anyone of any age can enter and they can do *anything*. Even the first audition is in front of an audience of hundreds of people.

The prize is performing in front of the royal family (among other people) at the Royal Variety Show.
