Is yellow gold worth more than white gold?

I was wondering whether what is worth more, yellow gold or white gold? The thing is I had notice that a lot of people are sporting white gold than yellow gold...I mean I had been wearing yellow gold half of my life and, I have a feeling that i look like a bammer with it on...should I ugrade myself or should I just stick what I love?

Generally people choose white or yellow depending on their skin tone.  Another option to white gold is buying platinum - but it's generally more expensive.  I like to wear jewelry that is a combination of white and yellow.

I just googled white gold and found out it is gold mixed with white metals, and can be any karat, just like yellow gold.  However, to obtain a whiter color they coat it with rhodium (which must be renewed every 12-18 months).  Platinum doesn't require a coating because it's color is white to start with.

Yellow gold is pure gold.  White gold is plated, and will need to be replated over time.

Many people now have Titanium, which looks like white gold, but is the best metal for jewelry.  Of course, the color is personal preference...

Pure gold is 24 karat.  If you have a ring that is 14 Karat then it is 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts other metals to produce the color they are looking for.  That is why you can also buy jewelry that is called tri color gold.  So for your answer go by the Karat weight and not the color.

Yellow gold is mostly gold.  White gold is an alloy that contains a lot less gold.

If you like wearing gold and it's the color that pleases you, stick with it.  Classic jewelry never goes out of style and I defy anyone to convince me that owning real gold is somehow uncool.
