  1. no

  2. It is one part of the Hindu religion, so yes, it is. Sadly, it is being accepted in some churches by people who want to baptize pagan religions and philosophy. Learn NOT the ways of the Heathen!

  3. I dont understand why Yoga should be against being a christian.

Everyone is born as a Hindu, its only either through baptism or circumcision (whatever) that you convert yourself into christian or muslim.

So as a human being you can practice yoga and still follow any faith or religion or still be an atheist. (who cares).

  4. I don't think so. Meditation is a good thing and can be used the same as prayer. I also don't think it means you are worshiping another God. I could be wrong.

  5. Most people who practice yoga in America basically treat it as a stretching program....

Unless there's something in the bible against being flexible, I think yoga is okay.

  6. For many Christians in the West who don't understand the history behind it, yoga is simply a means of physical exercise and strengthening and improving flexibility of the muscles. However, the philosophy behind yoga is much more than physically improving oneself. It is an ancient practice derived from India, believed to be the path to spiritual growth and enlightenment.

The word "yoga" means "union," and the goal is to unite ones transitory (temporary) self with the infinite Brahman, the Hindu concept of "God." This god is not a literal being, but is an impersonal spiritual substance that is one with nature and the cosmos. This view is called "pantheism," the belief that everything is God and that reality consists only of the universe and nature. Because everything is God, the yoga philosophy makes no distinction between man and God.

So yes! yoga is against being a christian.

  7. yoga is a wonderful thing for anyone even christians. But it would make it so much more awsome if you spend some of that meditation time with God. It works very well for me. i clear my mind and then focus on him.

    It's really great!

  8. Yes. Its not related to christianity at all. Firstly because it is a doctrine of Hinduism. Although only some elements of this religion emerges but still it would be like accepting other gods whatsoever. Christianity though reflects that only one God should be acknowledged. But still it is said that yoga is only a Eastern philosophy and it can be applied in practice by everyone whatever ones religion is.
