  1. No, it's for everyday working people, middle class people.  There are nice homes with manicured lawns, but it's not for rich people.  I'm sure there are some rich people, but my relatives have always lived there, my uncles and aunts and even my Godfather, and they are everyday working people, middle class to maybe upper middle class, but definitely NOT rich.

There are nice homes, manicured lawns, nice people, etc.  There is a mall nearby, and you're about 45 minutes to an hour north of Manhattan.  I live about half hour north of there in Putnam, you are going to be considered Westchester County and close to Mahopac, Jefferson Valley, etc.  It's a VERY nice area!

Really, I wouldn't lie, it's really, really, a nice area to live.  You are in the center where you can go up north towards the Catskills or south towards the city, so you're in the center, which is how I see it where I live.

I'm not sure where you're moving from, so I'm not sure how much of a change it's going to be for you, but there are shopping centers and a mall, it's not a big mall, you're better off going to Danbury, which is in CT and that's about a half hour from you, but that's where everyone around here goes to shop for the bigger mall.  You can also go towards White Plains once you learn your way around.

It's a nice place and there's a lot around, and the proximity to the city is the cool thing.  I like that we can take a day trip to the city go see and show and dinner and come home, or hang out there all do something, etc.  I even have Doctors in Manhattan I can go down and come back within a few hours.  I like being that close and you will too once you get adjusted.  That part is really cool!

Good luck with your move and I do hope you like it there!

  2. I wouldn't call it a place for the rich people, like only millionaires. It's more like middle-upper status, a few notches down from upper-upper millionaire status.
