Is you lie just to save lives, is it justifiable??

I mean if you told a very serious lie just to save the lives of many people, must you be condemned or punished??

  1. the way i see it, if we made this a purely hypothetical and assume your lie doesnt cause the deaths of people that arent already at risk then dont be silly of course it is justifiable.

    Life > something as fluid as telling the truth (probably even more so to the people who in this odd little scenario you save by not being honest)

  3. No.  Sometimes lying is the only way to answer a question.

    When a wife asks her husband "Do I look fat in this dress" A smart man lies.

  4. It depends on other variables, if present, but in just the context you've presented the question, I'd say it's absolutely noble.
