Who Can Open the Gate

This story takes you to a big pasture, filled with a lovely bunch of horses. A question has just been asked amid the herd.

Let's listen in on the conversation among the many breeds of horses.

............"Who Can Open the Gate?"............

Lipizzan: No need for opening it! When are you all going to learn how to fly?!!

Thoroughbred: I don't want to mess with that gate and I am too scared of flying! I will just jump over it and leave you all behind.

Paint: Yeah, what he said! Na Na Na Na Na Na!

Palomino: Forget it. Count me out. I am not taking any chances of messing up my chrome!

Arabian: You'll have to get somebody else to do it. I'm not messin' up my nails for no one!

Quarter Horse: Maybe if I push on it with my big buns, I could open it!

Standardbred: Pity on all of you. I'll figure it out, just give me some time.

Polo Pony: Wait just a minute, let me get my stick and give it a few bloody wacks!

Shetland: Let me at it. I'll break the stupid thing! Then you all can get out of my face.

Mule: Oh, let's just pack it in and call it a day.

Saddlebred: Now, now. I'll open it, if someone could help me with my shoes?

Fresian: I'll do it! Do you think it will mess up my hair? I always have such good hair days.

Mustang: Heck with opening it, how about I just run the whole darn fence over?

Belgian: Step back! You all aren't strong enough to do it. I'll do it. Oh, but what if I break it?

Morgan: There, there. I'll do it for you. No need to have such a big fit. Peace be with all of you. Is there anything else I could do for you after I get done with the gate?

Appaloosa: Oh, hush all of you! Ya big bunch of sissies. No one is leaving till I say so!

Percheron: I have already opened the gate while you all have been arguing! I even went down the next row and opened all the other gates. So it will be awhile before I have to listen to all of you argue again!

  1. i would be the Percheron

  2. I would be the Percheron coz i HATE listenin to argue ments, they drive me crazy so i just go and do it my self.

My QH would be the muleXPolo Pony. He doesn't like working but if his mates are way over there and he is way over here... he'll through a tantrum

My mare Bella would be the Morgan!! she is always nice and caring unless the yearling are buggin her.

My ASH mare (Rosie) would be the appy. The Boss, tell all what to do.

Our little Weslh pony Bambie would be the Standardbred, and if he can't open the gate, he'll walk under it!!

    hehehe

  3. haha, good one, I'd be the Percheron.  My Horse Rebel would be the QH, or, saddly, the Lippizan/TB.  He loves to push gates then jump threw, this is why we can't work in round pens.

  4. I would be the MUSTANG..."Heck with opening it, how about i just run the whole darn fence over?" LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL  LOL LOL LOL

  5. i'd be the percheron because i dont stand around while everyone talks bout what to do, by the time they've figured out a plan, i've already started something new. lol

thanks for the question, it was enjoyable

  6. I love that! The only exception is that there are two to four Appys at this barn that can and do open locks...so they'd be in the place of the Percheron in that.

In that case, I would be a lanky warmblood trotting up from the back end of the pasture after everyone left. "Hey, did I miss something?"

My gelding is a thoroughbred, but his legs aren't good enough for jumping anymore. He'd instead say, "Well, I'll just run back and forth to the gate and bellow like I always do, and they'll let me in." Our new thoroughbred mare would be like the Morgan. She goes along with everyone else and sort of lets other horses tell her what to do.

  7. well based on the real horses, Arabian, great endurance, fiercely loyal, strong, beautiful (ha ;]) and have great temperments

  8. I would probably be the Percheron, uninterested in the argument...

My pony, Maggie, a quarter pony, would probably be a Mule, a Lipizzaner, a Thoroughbred, or a Mustang. She would definitely not take the time to open it, that's for sure! :)

  9. I'm probably the Percheron or the shetland. Depends on my mood, but I generally don't like trivial fights.

Horses are their own respective breeds, honestly. My TB and QH would be that way. My mixed horse, Cisco is PROBABLY the mule -- lazy boy -- but also partly the appaloosa.

  10. Awww...That is so cute! Hmmm...I think I would be either the Fresian or the Appaloosa - depending on my mood! I know I picked the two almost opposites, but hey I can't help it!

    haha lol :D

  11. very cute. my horse would be the quarter horse (and she is). she opens gates with her head and not her big buns.  thats why i have to close the gate all the time so she cant get out
