  1. My son got a diagnosis of PDD-NOS at 11 years old. I still felt lost after the diagnosis b/c the idiots at mental health did not give me any education or even suggest that I contact my local MR/DD agency. Luckily  I have a friend whose daughter has aspergers and another whose son has autism. they got me on the right path. I also read a great book called "a parents guide to aspergers syndrome and high functioning autism: how to help your child thrive". I feel much more in control of the situation now that I am informed. His rages still are no fun. I got a bruised nose and a big bruise on my arm from the last one.

  2. having an Autism child is a true gift. they have the ability to do things "normal" people cannot.

  3. I really knew at birth but they wouldn't say for sure an then a few months ago they diagnosed PDD/Aspergers.  I wasn't shocked because  already knew.  I worked with Autistic kids when i was 12 until I was 18 so after that long of being around them a lot I picked up on early signs some may miss.  I just felt like at least he has a mom that cares enough to seek out help and not go into denial about it like many parents seem to do.  Also I know not to blame the shots or anything like that because I knew at birth he had it.  We take it one day at a time.

  4. I was relieved because i was blaming myself Thomas wasn't talking ..he was three when he was formally diagnosed with severe autism, He is 10 now non verbal and still in nappies, its been tough and still is sometimes, i learn to cope everyday with some new little thing from

Ripping his Yellow Pages to bits and placing them together on the floor, opening sweets so he can take the red ones out to eat and line the rest up, his funny little ways that he has like squinting his eyes to look at the windows and using his hands to look around the design of the house, so many more things i could say oh and the grass picking he has to have 10 strands on his desk ...i made videos on You tube if anyone would like to see

  5. no          but I am

    I have asperger's syndrome

  6. My child has been poisioned by vaccines, and has heavy metals poisioning, aka "autism".  We're getting it removed, so I can get my child back.

  7. No, but I have got a 15 year old little sister with ADHD.

I was not particularly happy when she got diagnosed, because I think that she uses her diagnosis as an excuse for bad behavior.
