  1. Your guinea pig probably isn't getting something in his/her diet if she/he is acting this way.  Make sure what you are feeding it is nutritious and make sure it gets plenty of exercise.  Take it outside, they need the fresh grass anyway plus its great exercise!

  2. Happy guinea pigs are not usually lazy all of the time. Yours is probably acting lazy because it doesn't have a cagemate! What is he/she going to do, play all alone? Guinea pigs are very social animals that really enjoy having another guinea pig of the same-s*x living in their cage with them. That really brings out the energy in a guinea pig that seems 'lazy', and makes them happy and playful. Also, does your guinea pig get at least a few hours out of his/her cage every week? Is the cage large enough to accommodate the guinea pigs need for running laps around the cage for exercise?

  3. I have 5 of them, all of them are 2-3 years old.  They still run around and chase each other and play with things, though.  So I wouldn't call them lazy, even if they are kind of 'old men' at this point. :P  (But all are in GREAT health!)

  4. No... sure she spends most of the day lounging or napping, but when she feels like it she does laps around the cage and will hop on and off the Pigloo. And she can last a whole hour running about outside before she finds a nice shady spot and takes a nap.
