Is your baby easily calmed or stimulated by music?

My 6 month old is. She seems to really enjoy listening to certain songs by Miley Cyrus, and she loves the Jonas Brothers. Just wanted to know if other babies out there around this age are the same. Thanks in advance. ♥

Our baby loves classical music and classic rock, his daddy comes home and picks up the electric or acoustic and plays for him and he goes NUTS (his daddy is WAY good at it) and he loves it...he loves all sorts of music and it makes him just move side to side and smile..I played a lot while pregnant and sang to him, also my husband played guitar a lot while he was in my belly and the doc says that's why he enjoys it so much! very cool!!!!

My five month old son isn't calmed by the radio or tv, but he is calmed when I hum to him.  He seems to really like Christmas music, Disney ballads, and patriotic tunes (randomly bizarre, I know!).  I always hum to him while I rock him to sleep.

My 11 month old niece likes to shake her bootie when the Ellen show comes on and Ellen is dancing.  It's hilarious!

My son loves music.  When I turn on a song, he stops whatever he is doing and starts bouncing.  He is 9 months old and it is the cutest thing ever.

My son loves music of all types.  Many people, including my son's pediatrician say that classical music stimulates brain function, rythym, and mental and physical development.  It worked with my oldest (19), and works with my youngest (11 months-almost).  

Be careful to play all music softer.  A baby's hearing is very delicate, and by playing too loud, can cause hearing loss.  Also, they shouldn't have to listen to it while they're sleeping, because they'll sleep better without it.

My little one is 9 months old.  She loves music of all kinds and sings with us, but most especially loves country music or folk music where she can hear the voices well.  I don't really know if it's normal or not.  No one in my family was able to sing a baby asleep, but when she was little, music would put her to sleep (or get her dancing) and I was able to sing her to sleep several times (and still do.)  

Music is just a part of her life.

my baby is 5 weeks old, but ever since I was like 24 weeks pregnant she loved music. it was really funny because she wouldn't kick or wiggle unless I had music on, and I can swear I felt her dancing sometimes! and when she was born and I brought her home I started playing some music and she woke up straight away and started kicking and waving her hands, and she also seemed to recognize the songs I was playing. I can see how much she likes music, especially keane or newton faulkner,which is what I was playing all the time when I was pregnant.
