Abusive and neglecters are have all kinds of issues........most, or many, anyway had hateful childhoods themselves.  So it wouldn't matter if their child were the "best" in anyone's eyes- since they wouldn't have the insight to be happy with any baby.

All babies, are the best babies. They are our most precious commodity. I know, that sounds strange too. But they really are. Because they are our future. I believe they are all true angels, that God sent down to us to nurture, and it is our duty to see right by them. I love holding any baby. You just can't help getting a good feeling. People should try it when they are having a bad day. It'll boost their spirits. Good Question. Peace

I dont think i quite understand this question. Every parent is going to say that their children are the best and the cutest and the brightest..It is only natural!

Well I used to work in day care and many parents said they had "problem children" but maybe it was that they where not very good parents. I don't know what makes a baby good to some people's standards my son is the best baby. He plays on his own he is very happy and secure. Before I had my son I had a 37 weeks still born so our son is a dream come true for us.

Also I grew up in foster care from the time I was 9 months old and I was abused in many of the homes I was in.  I don't think that there is ever an excuse to abuse a child and people don't abuse kids because there is something wrong with the kids they abuse kids because there is something wrong with them. But you are correct in that there are some parents I honestly know a few who are not happy with their children but it those cases I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with how they child acts it has more to do with the parent.

In the first place, how can you tell that s/he is the best? What's your yardstick?

I must say that a parent is instrumental in raising the new-born. When the new-born grows up. Only then that someone can tell.

And, perhaps, would it be better to ask "Is your parent the best parent?" It is for the reason that how a person came to be is the result of how the parent nurtured her/him to be the best person s/he is right now.

The people like you mentioned are not happy with life in general. It takes a very sick minded person to harm their baby in anyway shape or form....

And who is giving the thumbs down? Of course all parents think their child is the best bubs, we are all biased, s there is no need to thumbs down people

Is he perfect?  No.  Is he the best?  Of course.  He's 11 now.

And almost all girls over 2 think he's the cutest.  Really.  I hear complete strangers say, "d**n, he's cute".
