  1. If I'm on a four lane highway in the left lane I will normally try to get over if I can. If I'm not able to get over or I'm on a two lane road I just try to ignore them.

  2. I would think the best remedy for a tailgater is to 1) slow down and let them pass you or 2) change lanes, if possible. I wouldn't do anything to make them mad for many reasons, including the fact that there are a lot of people on the road with stolen cars who are not afraid to ram you as soon as look at you. Plus, people who speed and tailgate are usually in a hurry, and making their day worse never helps.

  3. Change lanes,  pull off the road and let them pass.

I usually slow down and p**s them off. I think it's funny.

  4. well brake check or speed 1 of the 2

  5. i f someone tailgates me... i just go 5 under the speed limit lol..... although i am just like to p**s people off

  6. Reduce your speed and if necessary pull to the side of the road and get the license plate number if possible and call 911.

  7. slow way down, figure if they are in such a hurry to get into an accident I may as well go slow enough so that it won't be real bad.

  8. i HAVE READ THE ANSWERS GIVEN BY OTHERS PEOPLE AND BEING A DEFENSIVE DRIVER IS BEST. eSPECIALLY IF YA HAVE CHILDREN. sLOW DOWN AND LET THE VEH GO AROUND YOU. iF YOU ARE ON A TWO WAY ROAD, TRY TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE AREA AND LET THE CAR PASS YA. THEN CONTINUE YOUR ROUTE. BREAK CHECKING THE PERSON IS NOT VERY SMART AS YOU CAN CAUSE THEM TO HIT YOU FROM BEHIND AND IN SOME STATES THAT IS ILLEGAL. YOU CNA GET TICKETED FOR IT. BE SAFE AND GOOD LUCK.

  9. UCANTCME is giving you the right answer here and this is usually what I do in this situation. However if I find that it is somebody that has a habitual habit of doing this than I have been known to do the same thing back to them.

  10. Stop in the middle of the road.  Put on your flashers.  Run around your car like a crazed lunatic, then get back in and drive off.

See if he still tailgates you.

    Repeat if necessary

  11. I'm a truck driver. The Colorado driver's manual says to slow down to adjust their following distance to about 3 seconds, Until they pass or drop back. Never speed up.
