But something is coming. Control over us by the Police is getting worse. If you are Black they want to throw you in jail.

Personal income tax? What is that? I know there is an income tax in the US (both state and federal). I think the US is becoming more and more of a police state. You can't do anything without getting permission from the government. And with all these acts being passed (Patriot Act, all those "intelligence" gathering acts, the "protecting America" acts, etc.) I'm tempted to think we're inching further and further away from democracy (not that we were that much of a democracy to begin with). I wonder how long the Constitution will last.

Not yet.  The US government hasn't "officially" done so but, by some of the signs I see, we are, if the people don't start making our voices heard, slowly being led towards a 1984 or Brave New World like society.  Examples:

1. Some states have passed "Hate Crime" bills against people stating particular Bible passages.  This means that pastors in these states can, in fact, go to jail for teaching what they believe is right.  But these same states will do nothing to stop speech and/or conduct against the Christian church.  What is more, what about a Muslim priest teaching similar concepts to his congregation?  Will he be in trouble?  

2.  Although over 60% of Californians voted down same s*x marriages, the Supreme Court of the State of California brazenly ruled against the will of the people.  

3.  Our congress' attempt to re-introduce a premenat stay of the "Fairness Doctrine"  If passed, ALL radio stations will be force to allow opposit points of view air time and air time at their choosing or face stiff penalties.  In other words, if I did not like a conservative or liberal talk show host's point, I have the right to demand air time from the station and voice my counterpoint.  If the station does not agree, they will get a big fine.  On the other hand, air time is money.  If audience and advertiser don't like what they hear, they will tune out or pull ads off.  In order to be in business, the station must be on air.  So, if audience and sponosors leave, so goes the host.  This is a very open attempt for the congress to block or limit free speech.  If passed, many hosts on both sides will disappear and some stations may not survive.

4.  Some stores no longer allow Salvation Army bell ringers at Christmas, U.S. Marines' Toys for Todds program during Christmas are banned at some stores, stores have moved from "Christmas sales" to "holiday sales", Christmas trees are now holiday trees, school will ban Christmas songs but have "brainwashed" the children into singing "We Wish You A Happy Holiday" and other such junk PC tunes, many companies no longer or allow Merry Christmas greetings or hold "Christmas" parties, public squares won't allow the manger scene but will allow Jewish and Muslim symbols.  All of this to be "sensitive" to, what, 30% or less of the U.S. population?  Hey!  Who are the majority here!?  Over 70% of the U.S. population still identifies ourselves as Christians!  What ever happend to our representation!?  Are we denying our heritage or what?    

5.  White heterosexual conservative males (especially those that belong to the middle to upper middle class) should now be considered endangered spieces (many have been sissified, oprahtized and brain washed by the liberal left).  If they dare to make a social commentary, any soical commentary, anything they say will be used against them as evidence of racism, sexism, biggotry and so on.  Their racial counterparts, on the other hand, can almost get away with anything.  They especially can get away with attacking white, heterosexual conservative men.

6.  Illegal aliens have more rights and access to our health and legal systems than U.S. citizens.  How dare they march on our streets and demand rights!  Why do they not assimulate into our society, speak our lanuage and respect our border? How dare the Mexican President lectures and blasts us on our immigration policies!

7.  We have politicians who care more about votes than the voice and will of the people.  

8.  We have Surpreme Court justices who freely gave our civil rights to terrorists and enemy combatants, sides with businesses and local government who wants to freely take over your home and land in the name of development and goes on-line to research for ways to fit European laws into ours.  What's next?  

9.  We have one presidential candidate who hardly anyone knows whom he is and what he is about and another who has basically turned his back against the largest voting block in America, the conservative Americans and contiunes to woo the liberal left.

10.  We have news reporters who won't check or cross reference their sources but decided to publish false stories about U.S. Marines "murdering" innocent civilians, a former U.S. Marine, now congressman, who took the opportunity to blast our soliders and found himself on top of the pork and, finally, a President who quietly stood by while innocent soliders under his watch were dragged through court martials

Those are just the beginning.  We are already communist-lite.
