  1. no i go to school ! but i sumtimes pretend to be ill so i can hjave a day off ! mhy mum works  with oldies and she hates it coz its depressing ! but she's alright but ....my uncle has astma and works in a place where loads of sawdust goes off !!! so maybe

  2. Yes, I've even been diagnosed with acute occupational anxiety because of the stress I have from work.  I like what I do, but the ongoing changes and stresses are burning me out.

Sometimes I'd like to quit but that would lead to all kinds of other stress.

  3. Try serving coffee to a bunch of small town gossipers where not only them but your co-workers are double your age and have the mentality level of a middle-schooler.

Yes, my job is making me ill.  It sucks though becuase I am pregnant and no one else will hire me.  Lovely discrimination.  We live in a c**p world, dear.

How about you and me and everyone else who answers this question with a 'yes' get together and start a business and make a million dollars.  Up for it?  : )

  4. no

  5. I have had jobs where either I had panic attacks or worse yet, severe stomache pain and puking before work, it was terrible, I quit right away, nothing NOTHING is worth your health, physical or mental....

  6. To be honest I think the answer lies in the environment. I have severe anxiety issues with work. It's because I am operating in an environmnet that I am not suited to. What I mean is I am a non corporate person working in a very corporate environment - a square peg in a round hole so to speak.. I have suffered panic attacks and severe unhappiness and dread at the though tof even going to work sometimes.

The answer is to get out. I know I need to do the same and am working on it. Only you can make changes to your career.

Perhaps your situation is different but you have to analyse what it is that makes you feel ill re work. Everyones situation is unique to them but only you can make changes. Sometimes even a small change in approach within the same job can make all the difference.

Is it perhaps that you are expecting to much of yourself and put yourself under severe pressure? If so you should seek more help, ask more questions and take the attitude that some of the problems or workload you face are not just your responsibility to sort but that of the whole department. Don't be shy too about objecting if you feel you are being given tasks to do which have either too high a work load or are unreasonable. An example could be to put in a caveat so that when you are given something to do you should say yes I will try and get that done but I think the constraints of x, y and z will potentially get in the way, but i'll do my best.. by doing that you are actually helping others around you more as you are raising a risk earlier on and you are showing yourself willing to have a go at something.

May not be your situation but just a few thoughts..

  7. I'm bored stiff (have spent all morning on YA, amazon.com, and ebay), I'm worried about a layoff, I spend all day in the office alone, my boss is unpredictable (I'm always damned if I do and damned if I don't)...so yes, my job is making me MENTALLY ILL.

  8. I feel your pain dude

I'm at work right now, my day could not BE anymore boring. I'm doing bank work on a geriatric unit. Although I should not complain too much, I've sat on Y/A all afternoon!

  9. Yes.I am looking for another job right now.

  10. Yep yep! Massive headache starting already, and I've only been working one hour.

A boss who pushes all her work in my direction (on top of the 3 positions I already fill) and surfs the internet. Clients who belittle me and tell me I'm stupid and don't know what I'm doing even though they are buying their first house and I've been in the business over 10 years.

A co-worker who never shuts up!!! OMG... she's been b*tching for the last 2 months.

How do I get back at all of it? I sit here and get paid to play on Y!A... yipee! lol
