I was emailed this question and figured it would be fun to put on here. You can just decide what mindset you are, however, the question includes explanations if you need them.

Past: You think about the past often and what once was. You often take strolls down memory lane and find yourself thinking quite a bit about the good times; things you might have changed and wishing you could go back in time knowing then what you know now. You also find yourself often dwelling on mistakes and wishing you can go back and fix them.

Present: You live for the moment, day-by-day, hoping to enjoy everyday as if it were your last. You don't dwell on the past yet you don't do much planning for the future either. You accomplish what you want, when you want and if mistakes occur, you drive on; just as long as you learn from them so not to repeat them. Financially, you are more concerned with how you live today and not as much how you will be living in the future.

Future: Everything you do is for your plans in the future. You don't spend money on lavish things so to have as much saved as possible for your future and that of your family (whether you have one already or are planning to have one). You find yourself often thinking about what your status will be a few years down the road instead of dwelling on the past and thinking about what you will do today. All your schedules are planned in advance and you often spend your present time preparing for future events in virtually all aspects of your life.

  1. My instinct was so say "future" because I always worry/stress about the future (marraige, kids, etc.) then when I read the "spending money on a lavish lifestyle" I realize it's probably more present than anything else.

I definitely do not live in the past. I actually try to block out anything negative from the past and I always forgive and forget.

Through all the rambling, my answer is "present". =) Good question!

  2. future

  3. past. unfortunately I think I'm stuck in it. I've experienced some very horrible things when I was younger and as a result I tend to base my actions and thoughts on those experiences (which has lead to other bad experiences) rather than thinking ahead. I often think I'm my own worst enemy for this reason.
