And vice versa. I've heard it somewhere that your eyes are connected to your skin or liver or something and if you had bad eyes that would mean you would have bad skin and vice versa.

The eyes are connected to the skin indirectly. There are four muscles attaching the eye into the socket and there is a neuro vascular bundle in the back.
