Is your snowboard supposed to get cut up every time you ride?

it seems every time i ride i get a new cut in the bottom of my board is that supposed to happen

  1. that can happen if you ride at a mountain with exposed rocks or icy conditions.

    also, if you jib on things, your board will get banged up.

  3. Mine's the same way, I have to get my board waxed a lot. It really depends on how you ride and what kind of runs you ride on. If you do boxes and rails then your more likely to get cuts on the bottom.

  4. No... unless you are riding in terrain with exposed rock. In early season lots of hills have rocks that are dredged up by groomers because there isn't enough snow to cover everything.  Even if you ride boxes and rails you shouldn't be getting hacked up ever time at the hill unless the rails and boxes are poorly constructed (sharp bits).   Your board will get scratched and very occasionally gouged - but not every time!
