ok, so I'm trying to find what happened to my great grannies brother. Named James Valentine Done. He lived in Pittsburgh in the early 1900's. He was in the American army, or some sort of military service anyway. I know he travelled around the southern states until about 1913, which is when I lose track of him. He was in around Georgia, Alabama and New Orleans at the time. Any one know what happened? Did he have any kids? any info would be great!

  1. He registered for ww1 draft in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1917 or 1918 (the card is very faded).  It did show wife Clara Done in Tulsa was nearest relative.

sure enough, James and Clara stayed in Tulsa, and are there for 1920 and 1930 census.  1920 is shown as Doire.

No kids are living with them either time.

His dob shows as 28 Nov 1880.  He does not show up in the social security death index, so probably died bef 1960.

If you have records concerning gr grannie's death, or other siblings.. try to run down their obits and see if he was included at time of their deaths.

    edit-

looks like you posted before on genforum?? I find basically what she already told you.
