Question:

Is £30 million Cheap in Football now?

Many players in recent years have been touted as potential transfers exceeding $£30 such as Adebeyour, Shevchenko, Henry etc. During the mid-late 90's youd never hear of much exceeding 20 million (except in the case of Ronaldo or Vieri) which is todays equivalent of 50 mil. So is 30mil a bit run of the mil now?

  1. I Can remember when the first Million £ player was sold Trevor Francis Birmingham to forest. The prices are just going to get higher and higher! Only the high profile players are going to be bought for £30 + milliion and there only a few clubs who can afford those price madrid, chelsea man u,inter ETC

  2. Now a days Clubs want to know to what other club they are selling to... Once they know how potential you are then they will try to get rich through your budget.

There is no way any of the named players can be sold over that price if the the club requesting their service is Birmingham or Sunderland.

  3. No it it is definitely not cheap. Not many clubs can afford that type of price tag and those that can wont give it up easily. There has been a downturn in prices in the last couple of years and most clubs are watching their purse strings. It seems to be on the rise again but new owners especially in the english clubs will baulk at spending that type of money. There will be exceptions of course for exceptional players but £30 million is a lot of cash and if i was running a club i would have to look long and hard before spending that kind of money.
