Question:

Is “Change” the theme of this election?

I can certainly understand Obama promoting change but the Republicans are on shaky ground here. If Republicans want us to change, I’m willing to do it correctly and change to a Democratic administration. Is this an appropriate theme for the Republicans?

  1. Of course "change" is the theme!

Staying the course means staying with you-know-who.

Never has there been an election in which the party in power has tried harder to pretend it is not really the party in power.  Thank you, George W. Bush, for ruining my party.

  2. Yes this is the theme and yes, this is appropriate for THIS Republican, John McCain...and don't we need change? And change that makes sense?

  3. Its an appropriate theme for McCain.  You can't really McCain a "tried-and-true" Republican.  He is a republican and he is a conservative, but his much more centrist than any GOP candidate in more than a decade.

If you have faith in poilitical parties that is your problem.  Seriously.  The "change" we truly need is getting off our dem/repub addiction in this country.  Its pure silliness to think that a person can't be a good leader because of the party they belong to.  Its also silly to think that a different party will bring about true change.

I like this election because I feel both candidates are truly wanting to make real change.  I support Obama over McCain, but wouldn't be upset if McCain wins.  I wouldn't be upset at all.

McCain went back to what made me like him 8 years ago last night, he doesn't have to appease any base now.  He can do "his" thing and he does that very well.  Does he have a temper?  If you were in washington dc for a quarter century you better have a temper.

    All taht being said...

    Obama in 2008.

  4. Change is always the theme of a Presidential election.

But really what is Obama bin Biden going to change? Obama has never led anything in his life and Biden is a career politician who has never reached across the aisle for anything.

McCain/Palin are the real choice for change.

  5. Republicans had a chance in 2000,2004 and they messed up twice. Now they want to change back and take us to 2000 to do it all over again with the hopes of having a different result.
