Isaac John joins Wakefield Trinity Wildcats - Rugby League news
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats confirmed on Saturday, October 29, the uptake of half-back, Isaac John, from New Zealand Warriors to a three-year deal.
This induction has been made by Wildcats new coach, Richard Agar, who explains that it was influenced by John’s Toyota Cup-winning performance against North Queensland in Sydney.
While commenting on their latest pick at Wakefield, Agar stated, “Isaac is a key signing for us. He is a very skilful and talented ball player with great footwork and a good kicking game. A couple of untimely injuries and with the talent in front of him,
it has been difficult for Isaac to get any sort of sustained run in the Warriors side. But having seen him star in the recent Grand Final for the Junior Warriors, there's no doubting the ability he has and I'm very happy that he'll have the chance to show
the rugby league world that in a Wakefield Wildcats shirt."
John had made his National Rugby League (NRL) debut against Sydney Roosters. His first team experience was not going too wel, but he continued playing. So far he has nine NRL caps under his belt and back in 2009, he was promoted to be a full-time Warriors
member.
He further added with a limited number of opportunities at Warriors, to be able to run a team is a huge step of its own.
Ever since Agar joined in with Wildcats, the recruitment process is underway and John’s uptake has been the latest arrival, which takes that count up to fourteen now.
Agar is still looking forward to have former Wigan stand-off, Tim Smith, on board after he recently left Cronulla. The coach is occupied in the making of the best line-up the club has seen. When the coach was asked about his recruitment process, he showed
confidence over his chosen set of players and also added that he is on the look-out for more praiseworthy recruits which will definitely raise the level of the game from Wakefield.
Wakefield are in the process of making the most of the opportunity granted to them, in the form of Super League licence, when Crusaders had pulled themselves out due to financial constraints.
