Gangling Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has said that the time he spent away from the national team was the worst phase of his life, however the experience made him much stronger both mentally and physically.

"Nobody asked me where I was (when out of the team). In a way, it's good that it (injury) happened to me. But my family and friends have been very supportive," he added further.
Sharma, the 24-year-old right-arm medium pacer, has not donned Indian http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, in March.
The ankle surgery ruled him out of this year’s Indian Premier League, where he was due to play for Deccan based franchise, Deccan Chargers. Sharma had an option to postpone the operation until the end of IPL-V, but in that case he would have had to miss a busy Indian season, which kick-starts with Test series against England next month, as the recovery time for the ankle surgery was expected to be at least six months.
The lanky Delhi pacer said that he had no regrets over missing the lucrative Twenty20 league for the sake of fitness.
"I gave it a lot of thought [undergoing the ankle surgery] before going ahead with it. Missing the IPL was my decision and I don't have any complaints," said Sharma.
He also missed the start of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in August but did not get a game.
Sharma returned to competitive cricket with three wickets for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837, late last month. He then claimed separate four-wicket hauls for India A and North Zone in the Challenger Trophy and Duleep Trophy quarter-final respectively.
India’s next international assignment is the home Test series against England, starting from November 15, and Sharma hoped his good start to the domestic season will help him regain his place in the national set-up.
