Ishant Sharma has the ability to lead India’s bowling attack in future: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eric-Owen-Simons-c56137 – Cricket News Update
India's former bowling coach Eric Simons in a recent interview expressed great deal of trust in the abilities of injured pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/I-Sharma-c1566, who according to the former bowling coach has the ability to lead India’s pace attack once strike bowler Zaheer Khan retires from international cricket.
"Ishant Sharma has tremendous potential and has the ability to lead this Indian attack. He can be a bowler in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glenn-Donald-McGrath-c60183 mould. There have been times when he has got those three or four wickets but didn't finish with five or six wickets which is frustrating," Simons told PTI.
Simons advised the authorities in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 not to ignore Sharma and should invest in the lanky bowler as India should be looking forward to extracting maximum potential from the fast bowler.
According to the former coach, in India one cannot find too many tall bowlers and since Ishant is among the tallest bowlers in the game, he is certainly difficult for any batsman to hit.
Giving the 23-year-old Ishant some piece of advice, Simons said that the bowler has to check the length he is bowling as it might cause injuries later in his career.
Sharma has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 5 due to an ankle surgery.
Meanwhile, India have been receiving immense criticism from all corners for not carrying quality fast bowlers in their squad, a weakness which was exposed in the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and then during the Asia Cup 2012.
In Australia, the India batting collapsed on more than one occasion, and the bowling was equally disappointing.
In the Asia Cup, however, the batsmen were up to speed, but the bowling was once again the weak spot as they dearly missed the services of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379, who has been leading India’s bowling attack for almost a decade.
Experts believe it is finally time for India to rally two to three genuine fast bowlers who would take care of the bowling department in future.
