Isiah Thomas believes that LeBron James is better athlete than Michael Jordan - NBA Update
LeBron James is making a quick dash towards greatness and that has initiated a lot of comparisons between him and the legendary Michael Jordan.
Isiah Thomas has become the recent former player to draw the comparison. According to him, LeBron is a far better athlete than Jordan was in his time;
"They're both great players, and they're both great in their eras," Thomas said on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "In my era, we hadn't seen an athlete quite like Michael Jordan. He jumped higher than everyone else. He
was a little faster than everyone else and he was just the best athlete.
"LeBron James is the best athlete of today, and he's probably a better athlete than Michael Jordan was. He's bigger, he's faster, he's stronger."
The former New York Knicks point guard also suggested that there cannot be any comparison between the two in other aspects considering that they played in different eras, under a different set of rules.
"Now when you put them out on the floor to compete against each other in different eras, it depends on which rules you're playing with and which coach you're being coached by," Thomas said. "So there's a lot that really goes into
it.”
It was not long back when Jordan’s long time team mate Scottie Pippen suggested that LeBron is a better all round player than Jordan. That raised a lot of hue and cry and the recent comments by Thomas might also turn a few necks.
The comparison between has picked up pace ever since James conquered the last frontier of winning the NBA championship last June. He has since become a better player and at the peak of his powers, he stands wide apart from any
other player of his generation, just like Jordan.
The only thing that separates them now is the amount of championships. Jordan had won six, and James looks set for at least 4 in the next five years, provided he stays fit. If LeBron does manage that, he might replace Michael Jordan
as the greatest player of all times.
