I was reading wikipedia about, the scribes, the pharisees, john the baptist etc and I came across a reference to this Muhammed guy who founded islam being prophesized by Moses in the book of deuteronomy ????? It gave a link to a sort of Muslim scientology type website where they explained the name was spelt Mohammed and that in judaism names are excluded from writing so therefore muhammeds name doesn't make it into print. Please tell me this is not true ? I can't believe God would have anything to do with this guy or want him to in anyway represent his good character to people. Up until now I thought the Muslims had simply borrowed Judaism just as we christians did. Tell me this is not a true link to the bible and Moses!!!!

  1. Well the Muslims believe that they were descendents of Ishmael who was the son of Abraham by his slave Haggar (Sarah "gave" Haggar sexually to Abraham since they had no children). Later Sarah had Isaac and Haggar and Ishmael were cast out but God saved them. This is where the "brethern" comes from that Passage-Ishmael was the half brother of Isaac. Also there are similarties between the lives of the Muhammed and Moses when they are different for Jesus. For instance Jesus was a miraculous birth, Muhammed and Moses were not etc etc. Then of the course the words in the mouth is Muhammed's message and then of course there is the warning of rejecters and of course that is the whole Western world right? Look that passage could mean lots of things. For one the translation may not even be very accurate and two it can be manipulated by anyone to suit their purpose. Some people believe they are talking about Muhammed and some don't. It doesn't mean it is true. No one really knows the truth of the Bible. I guess we will all learn for ourselves after we die!

  2. why are there so many of us having prejudice against certain religion.  we can have all the prejudice against its followers / adherents but not the essence of the religion or its main tenets.  it is true that the people makes the religion.   It is also true that the religion stands alone by itself and people around it interpret it accordingly.  This is why we have thousands of sects in various religion.  it is obvious how we interpret the divine word is much to be desired.  religion is unity and bond.  here many religions divide.  that is the irony and inflexibility of the controllers of these religion.  its a pity.

lets get out of this mental prison and be free from this enslavement of thought and doctrine.
