asalamualykum... i am a 15 yr old girl who attends a private islamic school...due to the fact that public school has so many disobedient kids. i cam to this private school in my freshmen year in high school. im a junior by next month.

the rules are strict..no make-up, no chewing gum, no talking to boys, and we have to wear a gray uniform that covers us from head to toe.

my question is that im the shy type of girl who has respect for islam so by no means do i talk to boys at all. but what bothers me is that i dont wear anything on my face or try to look attractive in skool. but where ever i go guys always have their eyes on me...and im not the type of girl who likes dat. why is it that guys stare at u..even though ure in a islamic skool with no makeup on what so ever. my friends say that i have true beauty...i have noor and innocence in my face.

other girls in my skool wear make-up even though they wear a hijab...there faces are caked with make-up and yet guys dont lok at them. how can i stop myself from being stared at?? if it was allowed in my skool i wouldve worn a veil tht covered my face except for the eyes.

so brothers and sisters...any answers to why this is happening to me?

note- this skool recommends every girl to wear a white hijab...skool policy.

  1. Masha-allah sister. Your friends are probably right. Maybe you are just beautiful. There's nothing you can do to change that. It's really nice of you to try to be modest.

I know how you feel. Trust me. That happens to me a lot. People say I look like my great grandma, who was VERY pretty, masha-allah. I was born a month earlier than usual, and was born 3 pounds (wallah, I'm not lying. It would be sin for me to lie, so please don't think I'm lying.) I was very small. They had to keep me in the hospital for 20 days. And I could have died. Because babies who are small, can get close to dying. But Alhamdi lillah, I am alive and that is what Allah chose for me. I ws so small, that it was hard for my parents to find me clothes. They said that the clothes were too big for me.

When I was little, people used to say I was so cute, and some people didn't even say masha-allah. And you know how when sometimes, if you don't say masha-allah about something you think is pretty or something, it will get ruined. So now, I have a habit of biting my nails, and I'm sort of stopping how I pick my lips.

This is what I do: I look down, at the floor when I walk. Because then, they can't see me, and I can't see them.

Also, you should read ayat al-kursi, so that nothing bad can happen to you. You should read it every morning and everynight. I have to admit, I don't do that ALL the time. But I DO ALWAYS read it before I go to sleep.

And when you look in the mirror, say the dua:

Allahuma hassin khalki fa hassin khulooki wa harram wajhee alannaar.

I know the meaning of it. But I'm lazy to type it in right now, Lol. You can email me if you want the translation.

Just do what I told you, and insha-allah, you'll be fine. Hope this helped you sister!

    Your sister,

    Jee Jee

    PS: I'm 14!!!

EDIT: Actually, I decided to give you the translation. Ok, the dua in my answer was the way my teacher said I should say it. So I say it that way, but I'll give you the one in my book. It's a bit different, but it still means the same. I know what the one I say means, but it's hard to translate it, which is why I'm giving you this one:

Al-hamdu lillah,  Allahuma kama hassanta khalqi fa hassin khulqi.

    Translation:

Praise be to Allah, as you have given me a good physical form, so favor me with good character.

    =)

  2. This is why the Prophet salallaahu alaihi wa salam said:

“O youths! Whosoever amongst you has the ability to marry, then let him do so; for it lowers the gaze and restrains the private parts. But whosoever does not have the ability then let him take to fasting; for indeed it is a shield for him.” Its authenticity has been agreed upon. Related by al-Bukhaaree (4/106) and Muslim (no. 1400), from Ibn Mas‘ood (radiyallaahu ’anhu)

I would recommend you wear the Niqaab.

Shaykh al-Albaanee said that if the society is not practicing lowering the gaze, then the Niqaab takes the ruling of Waajib. (His position was that it basis is that it's Mustahabb and not waajib)

  3. well i would say that if u r ready to wear the niqab+ Burqa

    go for it!

i try to ignore the boys in my school

  4. what?? u should be happy? seriously you should be.
