Island Living : Internet Connection...?

I work online. If I lived on an island or similarly isolated environment, how could I (most cost effectively) use the net?

Your have to go for the best wreless conection out there, depending how far away your island is, depends just how pricey thats going to cost you.

there are some satellite based ISPs as well -have a look at this site:

Actually 189 a year works out at a staggering 15,75 per month that's cheap!

Rooftop ariel from an isp, failing that, you could get a data card from voda or o2 or someother phone crowd and pay for a data allowance, which is ridiculously expensive per GB and as bad as dial up (usually worse) no matter what they tell you.
