Island Peak favourite for Hollymount Nursing Home Handicap Chase
Island Peak has won best odds for the Hollymount Nursing Home Handicap Chase at Ballinrobe in Ireland on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. The winner of the race will walk away with a cash prize of €7,245.
The going will be good to firm in the 2 mile 1 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 19:35 GMT. A total of 13 runners are expected to be seen in action and their names are as follows: Good Decision, Supreme Doc, Island Peak, Claragh Native, Aces
And Kings, St Killian´s Run, Paddy O Dee, Sizing Santiago, Twin Plan, Instant Impacked, Judge Roy Bean, Golden Barrell and Valiquest.
There is a chance that Paddy O Dee and Supreme Doc might miss out on action today. However, no final decision regarding their participation has been taken until now.
Looking at the overall statistics of all runners, the bookies have favoured Island Peak for this race. His performances in recent times have been impressive, thus it will be hard to stop him from winning.
The eight-year-old gelding has participated in 15 chase races, winning one of them and finishing runner up on three occasions. In addition to that, he has also secured the third spot on five times, which shows that he is a consistent performer at this level.
In his most recent outing, the Michael John O'Connor’s trainee performed extremely well and finished on top of the table comfortably by more than two lengths. He was rated joint favourite back then and lived up to the expectations of everyone.
