  1. My sister had a wedding in Florida and we tied sand dollars to cards with the bride and grooms' names and wedding date.  They were easy to put together.  If you are having assigned seating, instead of numbering the tables you could name the tables different seashells with a picture of the shell.  I made these virtual invitations for my wedding this past June and would be happy to create a seashell design for you.  http://www.designempowered.com/invitatio...

Here is a link to some cute seashell centerpieces: http://www.localidos.com/DIY/DIY_Details...

  3. I was just googling something for another question, and found these favors...

I bet you could put some cotton in there and some of them white candies (like the hard almonds) to simulate pearls... and after, they have something they can actually use....

  4. I also did this for our wedding! We got our invitations locally here but I did find some awesome ones online.

These were our favors and everyone LOVED them:

This site has some great invitations:

For our cake, we had a 3 tier and put real seashells in the middle of the first and 2nd tier and put seashells on the table around the cake. It was awesome! We also put sand on the head table with candles and seashells and the tables had the same around the centerpieces.

  5. Well for the invitation, you could get them custom made shaped like a seashell. For favours, possibly a little silk bag filled with seashell shaped hand soaps, or maybe bigger store bought seashells engraved with your names and wedding date.

Maybe for centre pieces  you could fill jars with sand and seashells.

Dizzi Dezine is the website we got all our wedding stationary from. they were excellent to deal with.

favours could be seashell shapes chocolates wraped up in clear celofane tied with regular brown kitchen string and an actual seashell.

table decos could be fish bowls with sand and seashells at the bottom and live goldfish in water. or a clear glass vase with the sand and seashells and a candle.

i'd attack pics for you, but theyre all kinda in my head! but if you like you can add me as a contact and i can send you a pic using dirt and marbles?!?! :)

    have a great day!

  10. if you're going super-inexpensive: try orientaltrading.com they have hawaiian-themed/beach-themed/sport-theme... favors, etc.

If you're going more upscale, I would try papyrus or you can even get the stationary and print them yourself. One wedding I went to had silver-dollars as wedding favors (couple's name & date on them with a glittery-type pen) They just tied a ribbon into one of the holes so you can use it as a christmas ornament. Huge fishbowls with sand & small shells with a big candle in the middle for centerpieces...tons of stuff to do for that! You'll have a fantastic time & congratulations!!

  11. I love beach weddings! I had one of my own. I got the invites at Invitations by Dawn they have several to choice from and are very reasonable priced!

We made chocolate shells and had a candy cookie bar! It was decorated whit shells, sand-dollars, sea glass, and we had clam shells as candy scoops!

Our centerpiece's were simple tall vase, with sand, shells, etc... tall pillar candle in our wedding colors. small shells around the base.

Cake was white with edibles shells, and looked like it has sand all over it. The sand was brown * gold sugar!

We had little umbrellas in our drinks. Our Flower Girl tossed Sea Shells. Our ring bear had shells on the pillow. I heard that a friend had her ring bear carry a shell that had the rings tied inside it to carry!

Try the knot.com it has plenty of pictures to get ideas from and you can twist them to make them your own!  The isle way we walked down was made of bamboo that had ribbon tied to it. It blew softly in the breeze.

I had sea shells in all my flowers. The ring bear had a boutiner made out of them. Each father was a different shell boutiner, and each mom match with there corsage. Each girl had shell in bouquets. In my bouquet I had small shell instead of pearls, I also had larger shells in between  the roses.

If you need any more ideas let me know! Best wishes and good luck in all your planning!

  12. I'm having shells for my wedding too, and we found great and cheap invites with shells on them at vistaprint.com (click on party invitations, not wedding invitations, trust me). Very cheap and good quality.

I also am incorporating shells into other parts of the wedding ... the ring bearer is using a large mother-of-pearl shell instead of a ring pillow ... we are using shells and sand dollars and starfish in the bouquets and on the tables (you can incorporate them into your centerpieces, or just sprinkle them around) ... and we have fondant shells in the cake icing. You can really go nuts with it.

  13. Im in Melbourne, and im DYING to go to Queensland again!

Anyway, I would make the invitations. They'll probably be a bit messy, but im sure theyll look beautiful when theyre done.

Get some plain white (or light blue) pieces of card, sand and shells, and let your imagination go wild!

Try painting some glue onto the front of the card and covering with sand, then using a hot glue gun, attach a shell to the front. Make sure you get the writing printed on the invitations FIRST!

Or you could try justordering some typical (and pretty) invitations, which would probably have a piece of light blue card (About 15cm by 5cm) with a plastic-y semi-see through piece of paper pinned onto the cardboard with the writing prited on. Then just decorate with sand and shells :]

Make your own sea-shell chocolates. Check homeware shops and all that for seashell moulds, and buy some of those HUGE blocks of cadbury chocolate (thats like double the size of an average block) and melt, then pour into the moulds. I would make sure you've chosen the right timing, too!

There are wedding shops that have great ideas for beachy-themed weddings. Beach themes are vey popular, so they'll probably give you more than enough ideas.

    Good luck!

    Xx

EDIT: I forgot to tell you that for your cake, you can either:

    1. Put some normal white suagr in a freezer bag with 2 drops of yellow food colouring (2 DROPS ONLY!. [Per half a cop anyways!]) and tie the bag. Now massage the sugar around, to colour it. It looks really nice if you've got the right colour, and you've done it right. This will resemble sand (I dont mean coat the whole cake in sugar - just a little little sprinkling!)

The other option is to buy some shredded or dessicated coconut and use the same method to colour.
