  1. [(runway length in feet)(runway width in feet)]/43560 ft².

  2. I used to live on this island, a fly fishing lodge, about an hours flight south of Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. My dad would ferry the fishermen back and forth from the lodge to Cancun in a Cessna 206 Stationary, and sometimes a Cessna 208 Grand Caravan. They had built a little airstrip that was only 2,100 ft long, and my dad would land on it about 10 times a week. Of course, that's becuase he was a very experienced pilot, there were three pilot who landed too farthe runway threshold, and hit the water, and there was also one pilot who hit the runway too soon, and flipped the plane. However, it was also long enough for my dad to land with zero flaps, and to land with a broken elevator.

To the comment about the floatplane, Jimmy Buffet landed there with a CAravan Amphibian!!

  3. 0 - it's an island, buy a seaplane.

  4. It depends on what type of airplane you want to land on it. Lear jet, or Piper Cub?
