Island of Corsica - best travelling tips?

I am travelling to Corsica this summer and would like to hear about your experiences in this island and gather some tips. I am now trying to design an itinerary and need to know the best spots to visit and where to stay...

Hi, Patricia ! An wonderful idea and you'll see that Corsica deserves the name of "Island of Beauty". Difficult to do an itinerary since I don't know from where you are coming. But I stayed in Ajaccio, hotel Fesch (very well located) and from here i visited the whole island. It's gorgeous, you'll see ! Bon voyage !

It is my favorite place in the world! I stay, mostly, in Calvi. It is built around a beautiful, old fortress and has gorgeous beaches, great food & nice people. Depending on your budget, the nicest 5 star hotel there is Hotel La Villa. If you don't stay there, at least go have dinner on the terrace. There are also many, small, inexpensive hotels & residences.

You will need to take a trip up to the tiny chapel that overlooks the town for an incredible view.

After enough beach, you can go up into the mountains where there are crystal-clear natural pools in the perfect river with giant, warm rocks to lie on.

You have to see the cliffs at Bonifacio too! They are amazing and the Foreign Legionaires were housed at the top of them.

Driving is very easy there and driving along the coast is beautiful.

When you get off of the plane make a point of smelling the maquis!
