  1. If you are referring to drinking water, it is not salty.  The water you take a shower with is not salty.  Most of it comes from the water pumps for those who have them in their yards.  That water comes from rainfall.

    After reading your question again, perhaps you are talking about the drinking water in the island, the water for island uses like drinking water goes through a process called water desalination.

    The water now becomes potable. Most islands also have cistern (water tank) storing of rain water. Some homes filter this rain water for cooking and drinking.

  4. You mean drinking water. It is rain water, just like your water. Also some of it is desal water which tastes great.
