Here is a great site that tells you all about it.

I used to visit with my family as a child and would love to go back but my hubby loves his sun.

  3. I used to live there as a child and have many fond memories, and when I go back it's like stepping through a time-warp - the 21st century has not yet reached the Isle of Wight! But that's part of its charm.

There's no shortage of things to do-

The Isle of Wight has a number of attractions which children will love. One of my favourites as a child was Blackgang Chine, as has been mentioned.

Also try Robin Hill, a countryside adventure park.

For beaches, try Sandown, Ventnor, or Shanklin.

Another fave of mine was Carisbrooke Castle, but I always did like castles.

    Avoid Freshwater!

  4. The Isle of Wight is a beautiful island.  There are so many things to see.  Godshill is a lovely village with a minature village and lots of shops.  All the beaches are lovely.  Blackgang Chine is great but it's very steep so have suitable shoes.  You'll have a brilliant time.

  5. I was brought up in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, It's lovely and especially for kids.

I took my 5 year old son to Black Gang Chine and he really enjoyed it.
