  1. I think the hotel is possibly The Bay House Hotel, at Keats Green, Shanklin, and the photos could have been taken from their decking area.

Addition -  Your 4th photo doesn't add much in the way of clues.  The Bay House Hotel, may not quite be near enough to the Cliff Lift & there are no photos to indicate that.   I've also thought of the Melbourne-Ardenlea Hotel, 4-6 Queens Road, which has some decking at the left side (as you look at the photos), what appears to be a wooden balcony (above the main entrance)  and is very close to the lift.

  2. certainly happy to take a look - I'm from Ryde but my wife lived in Shanklin

OK - I think it used to be called the Cliff Tops Hotel when I lived in the Island but, knowing the location (on Park Road, Shanklin) I think it's now called the Ocean View Hotel, part of the Holdsworth Hotel Group - see http://www.holdsworthhotels.co.uk/oceanv...

You can pinpoint it on http://www.visitshanklin.co.uk/shankline... by looking for the top of the lift tower (in satellite view) and then picture number one shows the hotel's location with respect to the top of the lift tower.

  3. just put the link on here

then people are more likely to answer
