does anyone know if its just steam packet ferries that travel to the isle of man from ireland?

  1. er.... du know but there ae ferries that run from somewher near balckpool, liverpool, dublin, belfast and onec or twice a year from garliston in dumfries and galloway in scotland. all of them go to douglas harbour.


  2. Yes. Steam Packet are the ONLY Ferry Company who serve the Isle of Man, as they have exclusive rights to Douglas Port. Alternatively, you could fly to Ronaldsway Airport.

  3. Yes - the Steam Packet has exclusive use of the linkspan facility in Douglas harbour, enshrined in Manx law, so no other ferry companies can dock in the port and there are no other suitable facilities for large ferries in on the island.  This gives the Steam Packet company an effective monopoly on ferry services to and from the island.
