  1. He won coach of the year in the AHL this past season. He led the Providence Bruins to the best record in the A and is considered to be a very good teacher of the game. Given the options out there and the clear need for the Isles to undertake a youth movement he seems like a good choice. He is known for his ability to work with and be patient with younger players and he will have to use all that skill on the Island. Immediate results...not likely to have much success this upcoming season, surely the Isles will bring along a very young team. His results should be judged in year 2. Good coach, right spot given the situation and the Isles may finally be on the right track. Bringing in another impatient experienced guy wont help, I think it is the right guy at the right time.

  2. He was AHL coach of the year last season with the Providence Bruins and is  defense-oriented. He's used to working with younger players and hopefully will keep them competitive. Here comes the neutral-zone trap to Long Island.lol They can't score much anyway. Let's see if Gordon can improve on that.

P.S. In 23 NHL games as a goalie, he was 2-16 with a 5.60 GAA.
