Isn't Costa Rica the wealthiest country in Cenral Amreica??

I study the world at the library & I have a feeling it is.from my information,neighboring Nicarugua is in severe poverty is this true.Just the facts please, i'm not tring to offend anyone.

Panama is the wealthiest country in Central America with a 7600 per ca pita. Costa Rica is second with a 7100., and Guatemala is third with 3900. followed by Belize with a 3100.

You are correct though, the neighboring countries are very very poverty ridden. It is a shame. I wish the people would wake up and get those thieving politicians out of office, so they may have a chance with the economy. Too much corruption is killing all the third world countries.

It might be. It is surely the most organized and stable country in Central America, possibly in all of HispanoAmerica. Let me ask the Costa Rican guy at work what he thinks and I'll get back.

Yes, Costa Rica is the "wealthiest" country in Central America, only according to GDP per capita, in any other form i am not familiar with, i don't know. And currently Honduras and Nicaragua both have a GDP per capita of $3,100 so both are relatively poor in that sense. Despite "richest" or "poorest" all countries in Central America (Costa Rica, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador), they are all still third world countries.
