Question:

Isn't Illegal Immigrant an Oxymoron?

Why have we gradually come to accept these lawbreakers in everyday society?

The tone has changed from illegal alien to illegal immigrant to guest worker to undocumented worker...

When will we finally end this chess match and end this problem?

  1. Yes, the proper term is Illegal Alien.  Unfortunately, PC has changed the terminology to guest/undocumented worker.   Like the fact that "short" is out now;  the term now "vertically challenged".    I guess next criminals won't be called "criminals"-they will be "statutorally challenged".

  2. illegal immigration began in 1492....This is not our problem here in DUMF_CKISTAN, its a distraction ...The real problem is a corporate controlled gov....why do you think there are more undocumented workers/illegal aliens ( whichever word makes you feel more superior) here now? You think it might have something to do with NAFTA? I t doesnt just affect us you know, they are losing there jobs to cheap *** imports too!

Stop blaming destitute, poverty stricken folk for all your problems, you spoiled, fat, bloated insensitive, amoral. ignorant, backward, arrogant types who do not deserve to be called American...GET OUT!...go live in a 3rd world country and learn about true poverty, WITHOUT ANY OF YOUR COMFORTS......

  3. Maybe they stopped calling them aliens 'cos someone suggested taking off & nuking the entire site from orbit...

"It's the only way to be sure"  ;)

  4. Personally, I prefer illegal alien.

  5. In that case Only the Native americans are the only "legals"  here dude.

  6. Not if you look up the words in the dictionary.

  7. the kkk is a terrorist a organization and the cia and fbi are not all over it like alqaeda, your not smarter than politics to say illigal dont contribute

  8. If it were then only the Native Americans have the right to be here and everyone else that immigrated here is illegal.

  9. The best way to solve this problem imho is to grant them the visas to work, but only if they agree to live wherever the government needs them. I saw a list of towns/cities in the US whose growth is actually negative (i.e. they have been losing people year after year). Have them move there and help recover them, as opposed to adding to a problem when they move to the usual places.

  10. I can see why you might think so. However, an immigrant is defined as: a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.  You can migrate illegally or legally. Therefore, you can be an Illegal Immigrant.

I think people have become too PC fanatic and really take offense to the terms "illegal alien" and the like.  However, that is exactly what they are.

Ending this problem requires many steps to be taken:  Seal our borders, make LEGAL immigration an easier and speedier process and make it less enticing for businesses to hire these illegals (and steal jobs from legal workers).  People say illegal aliens do jobs that legal American's just don't want.  That is a complete lie. The fact is, Americans don't want to do the tough jobs for PENNIES like illegals will!  But if companies COULDN'T hire illegals, then they would be forced to pay fair wages for these jobs and legal Americans would WANT them! (though we must all be prepared to pay more $ for just about everything we buy now... but that's a price I'd like to pay to give jobs to legal Americans).

  11. no

  12. it will end when people stop falling for the re-framing of what things really are

when the laws that are already in place get enforces against people that employ illegals - the illegals will realise there are no jobs to be had and they will stop coming over

another example of reframing is how they have twisted the estate tax to the newspeak name of "death tax"

  13. Will yes it is.

  14. It's an oxymoron only while we continue to essentially ignore immigration laws that are already on the books.

The terms "guest workers" and "undocumented workers," however, are definitely euphemisms.
