Isn't Poetry.com a vanity press? i.e. where you pay money to have people publish your poems so you can feel good that you published something? that's my impression of it anyway. It doesn't seem to be a real thing at all..

  1. Yes it is. They hide the facts until they have you excited about being published.

  2. Verily I say unto you, beware the false Poets for they speak with ravenous wallets and empty promises.

    Yep. It's a scam.

  3. Try submitting a paragraph of random words as a poem. Soon you will win an award. Everyone does. It is a scam -- they steal money from gullible people

  4. I know you won't receive any money for your poetry from them. so I wouldn't bother with them. keep looking for a publishing house that is  the real deal, because a publisher should never ask you for any money.

  5. I agree with you now. I'm a 16 year old who entered the competition just for the sake of it. i received an email saying i was in the book blah blah blah then a few days later received one saying i won editors choice and could purchase a trophy. After purchasing 2 books and the trophy i finally realized i had be scammed (expensive lesson to learn)
