Isn't eco-terrorism a misnomer?

The so-called eco-terrorists do destruction, in the name of the environment. But aren't the real eco-terrorists the ones wreaking havoc on the environment, such as the majority of large corporations, or people with McMansions? Your thoughts, and reasons why.

  1. Terrorists use violence to force their ideas on people. Corporations and those who despoil the environment use economic advantage to get what they want.  There needs to be a balance. Making children go hungry and fatherless because a lumberjack hit a metal spike in a tree and died is just as wrong as car bombing a day care.

No, it's not a misnomer at all.  A thug is a thug, no matter the ideology.

  2. when anyone costs some one else their job, home, or anything else due to a 'feeling' or what ever they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

  3. Eco terrorists are terrorists who are motivated by ecology.

  4. Thugs a thug.  Irrespective of what excuse a person uses to endanger others and destroy property they are still criminals.  Burning down a luxury home does nothing for the environment.  Put aside the toxic fumes and ashes from burning household plumbing and wiring the house will be rebuilt at further impact to the environment.  Furthermore those homes are rebuilt with insurance money, which is less money the insurance companies have to invest in businesses like pharmaceutical makers who help save people's lives.

Those McMansions as you put it are nothing more than larger homes built typically by people in medical, law, or business fields.  In other words the people who contribute the most to our society as opposed to the fuzzy headed trash that insists on doing nothing but damage.

In many times and places arson has been a capital crime, and for good reason.  Fire is no respecter of human boundaries.  The fire that starts in one person's home could spread to others or even to the surrounding area, potentially killing numerous people to say nothing of destruction of animal habitat.

These people are garbage, they refuse to do things to help but rather focus solely on destruction for destruction's sake.  Hang them.

  5. No, people living in bigger houses than you do are not "wreaking havoc on the environment."    Please try to contain your envy.

Corporations and other organizations that produce goods and services for sale cannot force anything on anyone - you do not have to buy their products and services.

Eco-terrorists - you have no choice when the bomb goes off.
