  1. fear and pain are your friends, fear helps keep you alive, and pain reminds you that you are alive.

  2. Pick up a book called, "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker. A fantastic insight into why we have fear. A very well written novel too.

  3. Yes and no. You are born with a natural fear of falling. But most other fears are learned from experience and such. Like being afraid of spiders, close spaces, being in public, etc.

  4. No, it's not learned. It's natural. It's part of your Sympathetic nervous system and is involved in your "fight or flight" response. You naturally fear some things as a survival instinct to keep you alive.

  5. Fear is a natural response known commonly as "Anxiety Disorder". Common Anxiety Disorders can be broken into four typical groups; Generalized anxiety disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder, Obsessive-compulsive disorder and Panic disorder, GPOP for short. Fear is a result of a disorder, it is not a disorder in itself. Yes it is learned, but you should seek professional help to discover the underlying cause.

  6. well I insulted my brothers gf just for the h**l of it and got my @ss kicked. U know what ive been doing this for months and tomorrow I'm going to insult his gf again.

  7. yes.

  8. Yes, we have to be taught to be afraid. Our thoughts are molded by our parents who teach us about good and bad and right and wrong.

Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

  9. I'd say it's 50/50.  Phobias are definitely learned.
