this is only part of the picture and a great deal of that picture is taken up with economics and the imbalance of the Western worlds share of these economics.

Food is (obviously) essential but it is also ,when talking about the basic foodstuffs not the MacDonald view of food as a product not a necessity ,economically not viable for the capitalists of the west to invest in.Therefore the underdeveloped world will remain without the resources to sustain their own food staples

Trouble is because these crops are being grown for Bio fuel

food for the masses are not being grown thus forcing

food prices up like bread up and other food stuff for us in the UK

We have all given to "aid" for years and not once have we stopped to think that maybe just maybe those finds are possibly being used for something else. Yes it is horrendous but why are you venting on a questions and answer site? IS there not something you can do like form a picket line or set up an appointment with a represntative or write letters? We all have to do our part to make things seen as they are- not what we daydream them to be. h**l if all we did was daydream about the perfect world we WOULD all starve. But as for rising costs on food and such- has anyone ever heard of hydroponics? or greenhouses? I don't own my house but I do grow some veggies and fruits year round in a small GH behind my house. And you know what- we need to teach those people overseas in Africa and such how to grow food instead of relying on donations to support them. It was said sometime back that lots of those people have NO clue how to grow food anymore- because they rely soley(sp*) on donations from around the world.
