Isn't it annoying when u sometimes try to download sthg and they ask u?

to(enter the following code when downloading.)

and give u four or five numbers written in a stupid way and then you have to write them to complete the download ..i mean wtf is that??

It's to stop those hackers who use programs to go into a  site and fill it with spam. They write it in a manner readable only to a human not a computer and so it will be difficult for a computer to decipher it.

yeah, it's annoying! But it never happens with me when I want to download anything, it happens when I register myself somewhere or so.  

Do you know that you needn't write it correctly?! Twice I have written it wrong, but it has worked out :)

What's that? never happened to me!!

Sometimes they ask you to register BEFORE downloading but never DURING the download process ..

What site do you use man?!

It doesnt happen when you're trying to download something only.. it also happens if yuo're trying to register or even make an email.. yes I find it very very annoying and I dont understand why they try to alter the letters or numbers and make them look unclear..its like an opthamologist is testing my vision!

i guess they are used to make sure you are a person not an automated device or sth

it is because they want to make sure that you are not a malicious software that will spam the site, so they write it in a way that a program can't read but a human can..it's not that annoying comparing to the endless fields you have to fill and find out at the end that the site requires some payments..
