Question:

Isn't it best not to reconstruct New Orleans to what it was prior Katrina?

i was in New Orleans once, and saw something going on sexually between two men on the sidewalk. Sodomy. The crowd was cheering them on.

The area was mostly lewd and drunk. Best they don't let that element return?

  1. I'm sure that could and does happen anywhere in the United States because people are people wherever they are.  Hopefully you flagged a police officer and this would have been handled.

Don't judge all of New Orleans from one isolated incident.

Lewd and drunk?  welcome to bourbon street baby!

Hopefully New Orleans will be much better in regard to housing and conditions in areas of New Orleans.

  2. This is a loaded one. I agree and have said that New Orleans needs to be rebuilt physically. I also think that morally, it needs serious prayer, and washing out. If they rebuild through out all of the Mardi Gras debauchery, g*y rights, Boubon Street sin, then, I would say I hope it never comes back. It is a beautiful city and should be known for it's history, culture and beauty, not sin. Las Vegas is sin city. San Francisco is now known for g**s. All of these places, not just NOLA, need a spiritual cleansing. It is sad to see so many lost and miserable people.

  3. Its not just the french quarter thats new orleans. And who cares. What did you expect going to the french quarter? Good behavior? LMAO

  4. Crime and perverts pretty much sum up the dump. You want a real vacation go elsewhere.

  5. Been to NO many times and never seen anything like that happen.

Don't be so judgemental.  NO is a beautiful city with lots of culture and history.

Have you ever been to San Francisco or New York?

  6. Exactly when and where did the incident occur?  Note that both having s*x in public and exposing genitalia are crimes in New Orleans (and the rest of Louisiana).  Realize that if it happened in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras then the people in question were almost certainly tourists like you.

I suspect that similar events occur in San Francisco (and other cities with large g*y populations + g*y tourism).  Are you suggesting that g**s be excluded from the SF population after the next earthquake?

A huge percentage of your questions & answers are about s*x, religion, and punishment.  Why is that?

Note that "cocomojo" routinely posts extremely negative "answers" to quesitons about New Orleans.  Reality is that almost 98% of shootings & murders in New Orleans occur within the illegal drug community and the other 2% are "domestic" conflicts.  That doesn't make the crimes OK, but you don't have to worry about it unless you plan to buy or sell crack cocaine while you are here (makes me wonder about what "cocomojo" does fo a living). New Orleans is not even in the "top 25" American cities in terms of violent crime:   http://money.cnn.com/2006/10/30/real_est...

  7. Maybe they were wrong but your in their hood and if you didn't like what you were seeing move along...I was in N.O. pre Katrina  and thought the place was awesome...the shops, restaurants, and street people were great and I hope it returns to the way it was.

  8. Ummm...  Were you forced to go to the French Quarter against your will?  Did you live in a cave up til that point in your life unaware that anything can happen in NOLA.  How closely were you looking that you could see there was actual penetration?  I wonder who's supposed to be the pervert in your story.

  9. For the Record:

what you saw, was more likely than not, TOURISTS!

They give our city a bad vibe by coming here and doing the unGOdly while most local and natives of the city enjoy standing back pointing at the tourists who get drunk and regret their decisions the next morning.  Most of the population of New Orleans would not be caught drunk or dead doing things like this for fear of seeing someone we know!

So:  maybe you should have evaluated the scene before judging our city.
