Isn't it funny how Masha (Maria Sharapova) will be the #1 seed at Roland Garros?

we all know she's terrible on clay and not a real contender for it, but with Henin's retirement and Ivanovic's recent loss, she'll be the number one seed. Hopefully she'll win it, go Masha!!

yeh lol it just doesnt seem to fit in since she's not too good on clay but lately she's been one of the most imporved players and her clay game is getting better. i really she wins and completes the 4 slams thing

Clay is not her best surface but at least she doesn't quit at a young age like Justine Henin did.

she deserves it! she's the most improved player on the tour... improved on clay as well.. has a good record this year... with only 2 loss.... and having injury last year, great comeback for her....

I dont' think she's terrible on clay. Like some players, its not her best surface, yet she still has a chance to win it. That would be so cool.

terminator was right, maria has improved a lot. besides, being #1 seed at RG has nothing to do with being good at clay, red or green. the seeding is based on overall ranking. that is why henin who has not won a slam at wimbledon was seeded last year as #1 and lost in the SF. so maria deserves to be the #1.

In 7 years to have 3 Grand Slams with the French the only one missing. A semi-finalist last year to a winner this year. 19 career singles titles and 3 doubles so 22 total just over 3 titles per year. Not bad.

Jelena has been Pro for 8 years with No Grand Slams and only made it to the SF in 3. She has 6 singles and 1 doubles title.

Ana has been Pro for 5 years with No Grand Slams and 11 singles titles. She made it to the Finals of the French last year but Masha will kick her butt this year. Unless a qualifier beats Ana first or second round. Haha
