yes it is funny because in this day and time that is a rarity. I see no members of the senate voting to lower their pay. They just vote themselves a raise all the time. Another great example as to why we need Palin.

49 states REQUIRE a balanced budget, so no big whoop there.

Plus she did not create surplus in the general budget-- there WAS a surplus in their socialistic program of giving EVERYBODY in the state a piece of the oil pie, but that's because the price of oil went through the roof.  Did she do that, too?

Well, let's face it - Palin doesn't exactly bring the "gravitas" of d**k Cheney to the ticket.  So, regardless of her record in Alaska she's not going to be a VP with a lot of influence.  

Unless McCain kicks off she'll be window dressing.  If McCain DOES kick off then a woman who was mayor of Podunk, Alaska 2 years ago will be occupying the most powerful political office in the world.

Hey wake up!  Both Alaska and the Oil Companies raked in the bucks with the run up in the price of a barrel of oil  She had NOTHING to do with it!  Not so great Gov Palin - wanted to spend money on the bridge to nowhere - see Anchorage Daily News (http://www.adn.com/sarahpalin/story/5114...  Another lieing Republican.  Read the article - "the state is continuing to build a road on Gravina Island to an empty beach where the bridge would have gone -- because federal money for the access road, unlike the bridge money, would have otherwise been returned to the federal government."  So when she started to run for VP position she shifted money from bridge to nowhere but couldn't stop the road to nowhere!

OK...pay attention: The entire state of Alaska (our biggest state)  has less than half the population (276,571) than that of Seattle, WA.(594,210) Oil is the number one source of revenue and tourism also accounts for a major revenue as well. It's a beautiful state. I lived there for 3-1/2 years.

Balancing the budget shouldn't be that difficult considering the price of oil. However, Alaskan citizens do not pay a state income tax and have received a refund from the state every year for rears. I was there from December of '84 to August of '88.

In the military you had people changing their state citizenship all the time just to take advantage of the states surplus. She didn't do anything that wasn't already being done long before she ever got into office.

True.  Alaska has one main money ticket: Oil companies.  They account for 85% of Alaska's income.  Honestly, it would probably be one of the easiest states to balance a budget in.

YA is home to some of the most far left wing whackjobs of any site I have visited.  But it is interesting to see how scared they are.  You didn't see anyone attacking Biden to the extent that liberals are the past 24 or so hours.  They have fabricated lies, photo shopped pictures, and gone to their alien leaders at the daily kos and move on for the hate points.
